I sent an email expressing my disappointment with the decision to cancel the show and asking for a rationale. The response to the email was sorrow for my disappointment and hope the new programming would be enjoyable. I wonder if we will ever get a reason for the decision. It all seems so disgraceful and underhanded, full of cunning, secrecy and deceit. Perhaps the new program could address 2 Corinthians 4:2. I am not naive about synodical politics, but I would still hope that someone would have the courage to state their position on such a public issue affecting so many people in the LCMS and conservative Christianity. Bureaucratic drivel will not suffice.

You’re St. Melito of Sardis! You have a great love of history and liturgy. You’re attached to the traditions of the ancients, yet you recognize that the old world — great as it was — is passing away. I have heard from some “credible” sources (read: pure speculation) that the new programming schedule will include one hour of Rick Warren’s church growth tips, one hour of Al Franken’s parenting tips, and one hour of Joel Osteen’s catechesis tips.
Every Holy Week, though, they will forego regular programming in favor of the Veggie Tales’ Via de la Rosa.

I think we are in touch with the same sources. I had also heard that the new programming included Bishop T.D. Jakes on the Holy Trinity, Ted Haggard on boundaries in ministry, and Donnie Deutsch on marketing the church.
Perhaps Swindoll on homiletics? He is great at mining timeless principles for living. Maybe Roberts or Hinn for development?

Uh, what is it that Ted Haggard calls “ministry”? I figure he, Elliot Spitzer, and Marv Albert could have quite the conversation.
